Wine and walnut prices grew significantly
According to the Market Price Information System (PÁIR) of the Research Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI), due to the low yield in 2020 the price of walnut increased by 10 percent to HUF 3,140/kg in the first five weeks of 2021. The sales price of wines without geographical indication and wines with protected geographical indication, produced and sold domestically, grew by 10 percent to HUF 22.4 thousand per hectolitre in January 2021 if compared with January 2020.
In the first two months of 2021 the price of M+L size eggs was HUF 27/piece at the place of packaging – there was no change from the same period of 2020. Size M egg’s price was up 1 percent at HUF 28/piece, while size L egg’s price dropped 2 percent to HUF 31.5/piece.
Data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reveal that Hungary’s live cattle export was up 10 percent and import augmented by 14 percent in 2020. Young bull’s production price was HUF 778/kg in January 2021 – the same as in January 2020. //
