The price of live pigs has dropped significantly
The price of live pigs has dropped significantly in recent weeks due to the coronavirus epidemic – Horváth István, chairman of the Interprofessional Organization and Product Council for Slaughter Animals and Meat told Kossuth Radio.
He said that slaughterhouses were unable to keep the purchase price previously contracted in the pandemic situation, and restaurants and hotels were closed, resulting in a significant drop in turnover and a desire to “pass on” losses to livestock farmers. (MTI)
