Livestock farmers suffered significant losses

Due to the the increase in feed prices and a simultaneous decrease in the purchase price of animal products considerable losses occured in recent months to the classic livestock sectors, such as dairy cattle keeping and pig farming.

According to the latest report of the Central Statistical Office (KSH), due to the 3.5 percent rise in the price of crop products and the 1.8 percent price decline of live animals and animal products, the agricultural producer prices increased by 1.5 percent in June, compared to the same month of the previous year.
