The tobacco industry has to prepare for significant changes according to the head of the BAT factory in Pécs
The growth of traditional tobacco products cannot be sustained, so the tobacco industry must prepare for significant changes – the Managing Director of the BAT (British American Tobacco) Pécs Tobacco Factory Ltd. told at a press conference on Tuesday in Budapest.
Orosz Zoltán said that the tobacco industry needs to reevaluate sustainability, despite the fact that the number of smokers is still falling worldwide due to population growth. At the same time, the industry has been under increasing pressure for decades and has made significant payment obligations since the 1990s, has significantly reduced its advertising opportunities, and since 2012, the standardized packaging has been expanding worldwide.
