Heat causes significant damage to the poultry production

The extreme heat causes several billion HUF damages to the domestic poultry keepers, because the major part of the livestock – despite precautions introduced at the farms – die in heat stress, and their weight gain significantly reducing – the Poultry Product Council (BTT) calls attention.

The Poultry Product Council asked for urgent actions in a letter from Fazekas Sándor Rural Development Minister, to assess the actual damages and to prepare for the necessary indemnifications as soon as possible.

The extreme heat mainly causing significant mortality in the large turkey flocks, but at all poultry species it causes loss of production. Especially at livestock farms whetre there is no air conditioners.
