There is a significant demand for free products
Consumer demand for gluten-free products is growing worldwide, but manufacturers of such goods must comply with a number of strict regulations. In addition to food processors, professional education of traders and consumers is also important, it was said at the latest meeting of the Gluten-Free Products Working Group of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK).
Worldwide, including in our country, more and more people suffer from gluten sensitivity, milk protein allergy, lactose intolerance and diabetes. It is of utmost importance that people suffering from food allergies can maintain an appropriate diet, which is helped by various gluten-free products. The production of these products requires a high level of expertise, since in addition to the relevant legislation, regulations and standards, special production technology, the development of nutrition science must also be continuously monitored in the selection of food ingredients in order to ensure safe and efficient product production.
The Exempt Products Working Group was established at the Chamber in the spring of 2024, with the aim of providing professional support to producers and representing their interests in shaping the regulatory environment for product groups. The market for exempt products is constantly growing, and companies involved in the food industry must prepare to meet this growing demand. At the same time, competition for consumers is also increasing in this market, who expect higher quality and a more diverse product range. In the working group, manufacturers, traders, researchers and experts share product and production technology development results with each other, and help each other deal with emerging difficulties. The group promotes professional cooperation and knowledge sharing between companies operating in the industry.
