Tetra Pak wins major award
Tetra Pak has won first place in the Scale! category of the 2026 Microsoft Intelligent Manufacturing Award (MIMA) for its advanced automation and digital solutions suite, Tetra Pak® Factory OS™. The Scale! The award recognizes intelligent industrial solutions that have a significant impact on a wide range of value chains, customers or internal operational processes at different maturity levels.
The jury awarded Tetra Pak® Factory OS™ for effectively supporting food and beverage manufacturers in expanding production, bringing new products to market faster and reducing production costs in an increasingly complex geopolitical and economic environment. Rising food prices and raw material costs are putting increasing pressure on manufacturers, while the platform helps them improve efficiency, strengthen operational stability and maintain product quality.
Available across plants at all levels of digital maturity, Tetra Pak® Factory OS™ improves operational efficiency, accelerates digital transformation at scale and creates new growth opportunities. It does this by delivering more consistent, predictable and intelligent operations across the entire production process. The system is designed with security in mind from the start, with multi-layered protection to protect data and operations, even in today’s heightened cybersecurity risks. It also provides a foundation that prepares manufacturing for the application of artificial intelligence by transforming real-time data into actionable, decision-supporting information.
Sean Sims, Vice President, Automation and Solutions, Tetra Pak, said: “Food and beverage manufacturers are under increasing pressure to do more with less while remaining competitive in an unpredictable market environment. This award recognizes the tangible benefits of industrial automation: the data generated during manufacturing creates real value at scale and is immediately actionable. With Tetra Pak® Factory OS™, manufacturers can gain greater visibility into their operations, continuously improve their performance and build a digital foundation that is ready for the next phase of AI-powered manufacturing.”
The Microsoft Intelligent Manufacturing Award (MIMA) recognizes innovative industrial solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes through intelligent manufacturing technologies. The award, presented by Microsoft and Roland Berger, follows a multi-round, competitive evaluation process. Tetra Pak was named a finalist and presented its solution to an independent panel of experts before being selected as the winner of the Scale! category. Tetra Pak® Factory OS™ will be officially recognized on April 22, 2026, at the Hannover Messe.
