A significant drop in agricultural producer prices
The agricultural producer price level in August fell by 11.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The price of plant products decreased by 16.4, live animals and animal products decreased by 4 percent compared to the previous year.
Betwen January-August 2009 the agricultural producer price level fell by 19.9 percent, which came from the 28.1 percent decrease of vegetable products and the 3.6 percent decrease of live animals and animal product prices. In August 2009 the producer price of cereals was 18.4 percent lower than in the August of 2008. The producer prices of oilseeds declined by 38.6 percent. The producer price of fruits fell by 18.5 percent – reports Central Statistical Office.
