Trade in the euro area has improved in March
The balance of trade in the euro area unexpectedly improved in March, due to the fact that exports decreased at a lower rate than imports. The trade balance showed a surplus of 400 million euros, after the 1 billion deficit of February.
According to Eurostat’s datas, on an annual basis, export decreased with 17 percent to 108 billion Euros in March, while import decreased with 18 percent to 107,6 billion Euros. The economy of the euro-zone shranked with 2.5 percent in the first quarter. In March, the trade deficit declined to 2.1 billion euros 2.9 billion in February – reports ProfitLine.hu.
