Consumer sentiment improved slightly in August in the United States
The consumer sentiment index rose to 72.8 points in August from the 72.5 points in the previous month and instead of the expected 72.0 points.
Among the components of the index, the indicator quantifying expectations improved, rising to 66.6 points from 65.9 points, while the indicator assessing the current situation deteriorated, decreasing to 82.5 points from 82.8 points. (MTI)
