Consumer sentiment in the euro area improved slightly in August
Consumer confidence in the euro area has improved somewhat in August, according to a preliminary estimate published by the European Commission on Wednesday.
The confidence index increased by 0.2 points to minus 1.5 points in the 19 countries of the euro area. Analysts expected a slight deterioration, minus 1.8 points after July’s minus 1.7 and the minus 1.3 points of June. The final data will be revealed by ECFIN on August 30. (MTI)
