The economic climate in Germany and the euro area has improved
The economic climate in Germany and the euro area improved slightly in January, according to a survey conducted by the Mannheim-based ZEW (Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung) Institute for Economic Research.
ZEW said on Tuesday that the economic sentiment index of the German financial analysts and institutional investors surveyed for the next six months increased by 2.5 points to minus 15.5 points in January. This suggests that the German economy’s growth prospects have improved, despite protracted trade disputes and the termination of Britain’s EU membership (Brexit). (MTI)
