Consumer confidence in the United States improved in October
Instead of the expected deterioration, consumer confidence in the United States improved in October after worries about high inflation were overshadowed by improving labor market prospects.
The Conference Board, a nonprofit economic research institute announced on Tuesday that its consumer confidence index rose from 109.8 points in September to 113.8 points. Analysts expected a deteriorating value of 108.3 points for October. (MTI)
