Consumer sentiment has improved in the United States
Consumer sentiment in the United States improved in November, according to a routine monthly survey by the University of Michigan, indicating that despite increasing uncertainty, consumers are optimistic and continue to support economic growth with rising spending.
According to final data released on Friday, the consumer sentiment index increased to 96.8 from the 95.5 points of October. Previously reported data was much weaker: 95.7 points.
Of the sub-indices, consumer expectations for the next six months rose from the 84.2 points of October to 87.3 points, while the value of the sub-index, reflecting the current situation, declined from 113.2 points to 111.6 points. (MTI)
