Consumer confidence in the euro area improved in September
Consumer confidence in the euro area and in the European Union improved in September, according to a survey by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN).
According to preliminary results released on Friday, the confidence index increased by 0.6 points to minus 6.5 points in the eurozone. Analysts expected minus 7.0 points for September.
In the 28 Member States of the European Union, the consumer confidence index also increased by 0.6 points to minus 6.4 points. (MTI)
