Consumer confidence in the euro area and the EU improved in May
In the eurozone, the consumer confidence index rose by 3 points to minus 5.1 points, the highest level since November 2018. Analysts expected a slight improvement, minus 6.8 points from the minus 8.1 points in April.
The index rose for the fourth consecutive month in May, although austerity measures are still in place in several countries to curb the coronavirus pandemic. (MTI)
