Foreign trade balance improving
In January-August 2009, the volume of foreign trade was 17 percent lower in export and 23 percent lower in import than one year earlier. KSH’s quick report also states that our foreign trade balance was positive, with a surplus of HUF 815 billion (EUR 2,837 million), improving by HUF 875 billion (EUR 3,104 million) from the negative trade balance of HUF 60 billion (EUR 267 million) a year ago.
