Meili Vodka debuted in Hungary with Jason Momoa
One of the most awarded vodkas of the past two years (2 perfect scores, 3 platinum and 10 gold certifications), Meili, officially arrived on the Hungarian market in August, with a special series of events, which was also attended by co-founder Jason Momoa. The actor, producer and now alcohol brand owner told the story of the birth of his vodka, Meili, created with his longtime friend Blaine Halvorson – personally sharing his story of friendship, discovery and the shared vision to redefine vodka.
From finding the purest water source in wildly romantic Montana to designing an eco-friendly packaging made of 100% recycled glass, Meili took seven years to create. The result is a “sipping vodka” that can be enjoyed on its own, on ice or mixed, with a smoothness and character that is rare in the category. “Vodka has been boring… until now,” said founder Jason Momoa, adding, “Meili is about taste, quality and soul – a spirit that we built from the ground up, with respect for nature and those who share it.”
The Hungarian launch campaign brought the spirit of Meili Vodka to life with a series of special events, led by co-founder Jason Momoa. The launch brought together the hospitality industry, press, business partners and the general public for an unforgettable day.
The highlight for HORECA players was the Clean Spirit Wild Heart Masterclass, held at the Blue Fox The Bar at Kempinski Hotel, a key sponsor of the launch campaign. The event was opened by Zoltán Nagy, Meili Vodka Ambassador and co-founder of BOUTIQ`BAR, with a guided vodka tasting. Then, the 11 finalist bartenders — the winners of a month-long social media cocktail competition — prepared their own creations for Jason Momoa. The Meili co-founder tasted and rated the creations, then chose not one but two of his favorites live. Richárd Kommos wowed everyone with his Moviac Highball, a cocktail inspired by his passion for cinema and the parallels between mixing drinks and acting. The drink was based on Meili Vodka, which was enhanced with “clarified” wheat beer syrup and popcorn syrup.
This special creation paid homage to Montana’s grain-growing traditions and the magic of storytelling, and the lemon peel “M” decoration alluded to the words “Meili,” “Movie,” “Maniac,” and “Momoa.” Similarly memorable was Péter Gelencsér’s KOA SOUL, which embodied the wild yet pure essence of Meili. He boldly crowned the harmony of banana-turmeric syrup and salted caramel with Guinness foam, describing his creation as “a wild soul in a glass – a harmony of purity and unbridled spirit.”
Both creations captured the true essence of Meili: craftsmanship, creativity and the joy of sharing something real with each other.
