Lufthansa is canceling flights on Wednesday due to the strike
The Lufthansa airline is canceling flights on Wednesday due to the work stoppage of its ground staff on Wednesday, so it will not be possible to rebook tickets at the airports – the German airline warned in its statement issued on Tuesday.
“Unfortunately, the rebooking counters will not be filled due to the strike,” the airline writes on its website. Tickets can be rebooked on lufthansa.com, the mobile application and the service center. In addition, tickets for domestic flights in Germany can be exchanged for vouchers for rail travel free of charge.
The Verdi trade union has called for a work stoppage for the ground staff of the Lufthansa Group, numbering around 25,000 employees, in connection with the ongoing wage negotiations. The Lufthansa Group includes the airline Deutsche Lufthansa, the maintenance company Lufthansa Technik and the air carrier Lufthansa Cargo.
