U.S. grain distributor can be purhased by Marubeni
The Japanese Marubeni is preparing for a multi-billion USD takeover: the agricultural trading company would like to buy the third largest U.S. grain distributor, the Gavilon Group for 3.6 billion USD.
The Japanese company announced on Tuesday, that the total value of the merger would be around 5 billion USD, together with the debt of the U.S. company. With the acquisition, Marubeni wants to strengthen its American business branch, to challenge the position of the U.S. market leader the Cargill. (tozsdeforum.hu)
