Cigarettes prices will increase next year
The new excise regulations adopted by the Parliament on 7 June 2016 do not take effect on the planned date, on 1 January 2017. The proposed new date is 1 Apri 2017.
However, the excise duty on tobacco products will increase, which will affect the consumer prices – mfor.hu wrote.
The proposed new tax rate on tobacco products:
16 200 HUF per thousand cigarettes and 25 percent of the retail selling price, but at least 28 800 thousand HUF per thousand cigarettes.
for cigars, cigarillos: 14 percent of the retail selling price, but at least 4120 HUF per thousand. (mfor.hu)
