Gasoline price increase in January – so you can keep more in your wallet
From January 1, it is expected that you will have to pay HUF 40 more for a liter of fuel. So those who drive regularly have to dig deep into their wallets, not to mention the stress caused by the constant hunt for a parking space. However, there is an alternative – BKK has just collected 4+1 arguments why it is worth switching to public transport in the new year.
Pursuant to a European Union rule, gasoline and diesel will become more expensive as of January 1, 2024 due to an increase in excise duty, so regular drivers will have to pay HUF 41.3 more for a liter of fuel. This in itself is a strong argument for (occasionally) using other modes of transport, but the Budapest Transport Center now provides 4+1 arguments as to why it is worth deciding in favor of public transport in the long term.
