Consumer sentiment in the United States deteriorated in January

U.S. consumer sentiment decreased slower than expected
The Conference Board’s consumer sentiment index fell less than the expected 111.8 points to 113.8 points in January from 115.2 points in December.
The smaller-than-expected decline is due to a better assessment of the current situation. However, the outlook has deteriorated, including in terms of income, economic and employment opportunities. (MTI)
