The export surplus increased in January
In January, exports rose 2.8 percent in euro terms and imports grew 2.4 percent year-on-year. The surplus on the balance sheet increased by 49 million euros to 433 million euros, which is slightly different from the October and November figures after the December decline – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a first estimate on Tuesday.
Last year, the growth rate of exports in euro was higher than that of imports in just four months. In 2019, 0.9 percentage points was the difference between export growth of the 3.9 percent and the 4.8 percent growth of imports. (MTI)
