The lowest inflation of the past nine months occurred in the euro area in January
In January, the lowest inflation rate of the past nine months in the euro area was recorded by the European Union Statistical Office, Eurostat, on the basis of final figures published on Friday. The inflation rate is in line with the preliminary value.
In January, the annual rate of increase in consumer prices in the 19 Member States of the euro area declined from 1.4 percent in December to 1.4 percent in line with the preliminary value. The 1.4 percent inflation of January is the lowest in the euro area since April last year. (MTI)
