Domestic visitors boosted Romanian tourism in January, with guest nights increasing by 7 percent compared to the first month of last year -the Romanian National Bureau of Statistics said on Monday.
In the first month of this year, 1,575 million overnight stays were recorded after last January’s 1,472 million, and the number of tourists arriving at commercial accommodation increased by 5 percent to 796,000 over the period under review.
The increase was due to domestic guests, whose number increased by 8.1 percent to 668 thousand at commercial accomodiations and spent 9.4 percent more 1.299 million overnight stays. (MTI)
