Euro area inflation strengthened in January
According to the preliminary data of the European Union’s statistical office (Eurostat), euro zone’s inflation became 1.8 percent in January, after the 1.1 percent of December.
The 8.1 percent annual increase in energy prices contributed to the increase with the greatest extent, after the 2.6 percent of December. The price of non-energy industrial capital goods rose 0.5 percent in January after the 0.3 percent growth in December. The price of services increased by 1.2 percent after the 1.3 percent in December. (MTI)
