In January, Sentix’s Eurozone investor sentiment index improved less than expected
The Eurozone investor sentiment index presented on Monday by the Sentix economic research institute improved less than analysts had expected.
Sentix’s economic index, which reflects investor confidence in the euro area, improved to minus 15.8 points from minus 16.8 points in December, and with this, increasingly favorable data were recorded for the third consecutive month. However, the market expected better data, minus 15.5 points, for January.
Among the sub-indices, the indicator of the perception of the current situation shows an improvement for the third month, in January it was minus 22.5 points after the previous month’s minus 23.5 points. The sub-indicator of economic expectations increased from minus 9.8 points to minus 8.8 points, the highest level since February, and thus the fourth month of growth recorded.
The poll of 1,282 investors was conducted between January 4 and January 6.
