Tasty, high-quality melons are offered on the Hungarian melon market
In the second half of July – with the start of the melon season – the watermelons and the compliance with the conditions for their distribution were examined by Nébih experts during this summer’s series of seasonal inspections.
The official inspection – for the sake of the most comprehensive and wide-ranging inspection – took place at various locations, so in addition to roadside vendors, fruit and vegetable shops, weekend and wholesale markets, department store suppliers were also inspected. Inspections at all locations focused on the quality of goods, compliance with marking requirements, and traceability.
Based on experience, it can be said that the melons were adequate in terms of quality
The inspectors discovered errors and deficiencies in connection with the marking and follow-up rules, in which cases official measures corresponding to their severity were taken. A supermarket chain could not prove beyond all doubt the origin of the discount watermelons delivered to them. The official investigation of the case is therefore still ongoing.
