IVSZ: Internet tax is an overhead increase
The Internet tax deepens the already significant digital gap further in Hungary. It causes difficulties to all businesses in Hungary, and will lead to a price increase of Internet subscription. This regulation will not bring so much tax revenues, but will result in less Internet use – the communication of the Information Technology, Telecommunications and Electronics Enterprises Association (IVSZ) says.
The Association will continue to protest against the introduction of the Internet tax, as it has done in previous years. Even without such burden,s Hungary's population and businesses are lagging behind, in terms of Internet usage and competitiveness compared to other countries in Europe, in an era when the Internet is not only the tool of communication, but also a driving force of economic development.
