Payable household goods in Hungary
According to Eurostat and OECD common research the electric equipments and household goods are several % less in Hungary than the European average.
Within the framework of the European
Comparison Programme (ECP) – in which Eurostat closely co-operates
with the OECD – surveys on prices of household goods and services are
cyclically carried out by National Statistical Institutes (NSIs). 37
countries are currently participating in the surveys coordinated
by Eurostat: the 27 EU Member States,
the 3 Candidate Countries, Croatia, the former Yugoslav Republic of
Macedonia and Turkey, the 3 EFTA countries, Iceland, Norway and
Switzerland and the 4 Western Balkan countries, Albania,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro and Serbia. OECD coordinates the
surveys for the non-European OECD Member States. These price surveys
are the cornerstones of the work resulting in annual volume
comparisons of the main National Accounts aggregates: Gross Domestic
Product (GDP) and its components.
The controlled 200 electrical
equipments as tv, hifi, Cd-s, etc. are the most expensive in Island
and the cheapest in in Czech Republic (92%), the Hungarian prices are
97% to the average.
At household goods the Hungarian
products are 16% less as the average, the most expensive EU member
state was Malta (132%).
