Here is the Supermint summer seed test: zucchini in the lead role
Experts from the National Food Chain Safety Office (Nébih) tested zucchini seeds in the latest product test of the Supermint program. Based on laboratory measurements, the germination capacity of one product did not reach the limit value specified in the regulation. The final ranking was based on the results of the popularity test. The test continues with monitoring the development of the plants at the Nébih variety testing station in Szarvas.
Due to its versatile use, zucchini is one of the popular vegetables of the summer season, which is why it often finds a place in the vegetable garden. Gardeners can choose from several types of zucchini seeds: in addition to the dark green, cylindrical shape, they can grow zucchini with light stripes or yellow skin, or even spherical zucchini. The Supermint comparative test included seeds promising dark green, cylindrical zucchini, which are widely and continuously available in both markets and stores. The experts examined a total of 11 seeds intended for small garden sowing, including four hybrids. Regarding the manufacturer or distributor indicated, nine were domestic and two were foreign.
