Here is the list of shop goods subject to special offers
In order to break the sanctioned inflation, the government decided to introduce a new anti-inflation tool based on Greek and French examples, obliging retail stores with significant income to announce regular sales. The Ministry of Economic Development (GFM) and the Ministry of Agriculture (AM) have developed the detailed rules, the social consultation of the draft will begin on Wednesday, the GFM told MTI on Wednesday.
The draft of the government decree stipulates the following in relation to mandatory promotions: traders must introduce mandatory promotions between June 1, 2023 and September 30, 2023.
The mandatory promotion applies to those merchants engaged in activities indicated under the designation “4711 – Food retailing” according to the TEÁOR, whose sales revenue in 2021 exceeded HUF 500 million.
In addition to commercial activities carried out in shops or shopping centers, the decree also covers mail-order trade.
Mandatory promotions must be arranged on a weekly basis, the promotion period lasts from 0:00 on Thursday of the week to 24:00 on Wednesday of the following week.
