TM: telecommuting rules will be more flexible in times of emergency

Telework rules will become more flexible during emergencies, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) told MTI on Thursday, following the publication of a government decree on telework in the Hungarian Gazette, according to which employers and employees must work during the emergency.

In a statement issued by ITM, Bodó Sándor, Secretary of State for Employment Policy, stated that the rules of telework, which would become more flexible during the emergency, would make work safer and reduce health risks in the workplace.
The transitional regulation will help companies to stay afloat even in the event of an emergency ordered due to a coronavirus pandemic, thus protecting the Hungarian economy and jobs, he added. (MTI)
