Hungary is at the forefront of EU consumer protection, as evidenced by the fact that last year Hungarian consumer protection reported 171 high-risk dangerous products to the European Union’s non-food dangerous products system (RAPEX) – Keszthelyi Nikoletta, Deputy Secretary of State of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) for responsible Consumer Protection said at a press conference in Budapest on Wednesday.
She added that this puts Hungary in second place after Germany in filtering out high-risk dangerous products.
Keszthelyi Nikoletta explained that the European Commission published its data on the notifications received in RAPEX on Tuesday, in 2019 the consumer protection authorities of the member states issued 2243 alerts into the system. (MTI)
