ITM: Hungary is the first in Europe to use the super-fast internet
Solymár Károly Balázs added that more than 13 percent of domestic subscriptions are ten times higher than the EU average of 1.3 percent.
According to the 2021 Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) published by the European Union, more than 13 percent of Hungarian households already use the Internet at 1 Gbps. Forecasts suggest that the growth trend will continue in the future. Hungary launched the Superfast Internet Program (SZIP) in 2014, which resulted in the implementation of 30 Mbps (megabits per second) internet coverage throughout the country by 2018, they wrote.
