ITM: consumer protection inspects stores that sell environmentally friendly products
Until the end of September, professionals will investigate deceptive, unfair commercial practices, primarily in stores and webshops selling environmentally friendly, recycled products and without packaging. In a series of national inspections, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology (ITM) will investigate the veracity of claims about the environmentally friendly, sustainable nature of food, clothing and household chemicals.
More and more people are choosing an environmentally conscious lifestyle, so there is a growing demand for organic, recycled, non-packaged products. Businesses are also aware of this, which is why green claims are becoming more and more prominent in their commercial communications. (MTI)
