ITM: half of illuminated children’s toys had to be withdrawn
The ITM statement points out that parents have a legitimate expectation that children can use toys safely without constant supervision. However, most of the hazards are not identifiable at a glance and remain hidden at the time of purchase. Consumer protection does this by filtering out risky products so that nothing can overshadow the joy of self-forgetful play. (MTI)
