A beverage carton recycling plant was established in Poland
With a joint investment of about 29 million euros by Tetra Pak and Stora Enso, a new production line for the recycling of used beverage cartons will start operating in Poland, the production line will be able to triple the country’s annual beverage carton recycling capacity, from 25,000 tons to 75,000 tons, they announced. the companies with MTI on Monday.
The new plant will also enable the processing of the entire volume of beverage cartons sold in Poland, as well as packaging from other countries, including the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania.
According to the information, the high-tech production line of Stora Enso’s production unit in Ostrołęka (Poland), which has an annual capacity of 50,000 tons, deals exclusively with the separation of the material of beverage cartons, separating paper fibers from polymers and aluminum. The paper fibers are then recycled to produce cardboard, effectively contributing to the material cycle. This new paper recycling facility is complemented by the Czech company Plastigram Industries, which together with Tetra Pak is developing a solution that recycles the so-called polyAl material in the production of new products.
