Furniture, equipment, design and lots of light
The EuroConcept section at EuroShop collected store furniture, lighting and selling area design manufacturers and designers. ITAB, a Swedish retail solutions provider was present with the biggest stand (1,600m²) of the whole fair. ITAB came with complete store interior concepts, from pharmacies to food shops. We learned from András Kövesi, ITAB Hungary’s managing director that Easyflow was the biggest success. ITAB’s latest innovation was a world premiere: the world’s first fully automated checkout counter that identifies products without having to scan their barcodes. Imre Gulyás, Wanzl Hungary’s managing director told us that the company does not simply react to trends but actively shapes them. They were present with POSibility displays and lots of different shopping trolleys, including one for old people that is equipped with a magnifying glass. General Electric’s lighting division coordinated its EuroShop presence from the Budapest centre – GE Lighting communications director Kinga Kalocsai informed us. They brought four types of store lighting concepts – present, jewellery, clothes and food. Alongside special LED lighting solutions, ConstantColor CMH Ultra ceramic metal halide lamps – designed and manufactured in Hungary – were also presented. A spectacular fashion show presenting collections from Hungarian fashion designers Orlando was highly popular and indicated how important adequate lighting is in retail, especially in the world of fashion. ScanSign Kft. manufactures LED-technology, energy-saving advertising signs in Soroksár. 20-30mm thick letters, shapes and figures with a modern design are combined with LED technology to create environmentally friendly advertising solutions. PR consultant Nóra Staudt informed us that their signs are certified to be waterproof, therefore they can be used outdoors. Mobilia-artica Kft. came to EuroShop with their customer-oriented solutions. Managing director István Kertész spoke of their wide portfolio and the Digital Signage giant displays, the latest version of which is integrated with an RFID system and could be tested at the stand. Mobilia-artica Kft.’s interior designs and food store furnishing systems were presented in cooperation with Megaholz Kft. – whose managing director Gyula Adler told our magazine that they keep reinterpreting their approach to displaying products. Anna Várterész from PapLan Industries Kft. says: – Our main objective at EuroShop was introducing the quality of products we manufacture, but we also focused on introducing ourselves to new international partners. There was great interest from visitors and their ‘tavolo rotondo’ – a rounded product offering table – was the most popular. EuroShop’s most technology-focused area is EuroCIS that deals with information technology, security, warehouse systems and mobile units. Shopguard Kft. has affiliates in 13 countries and distributors in another 25 regions. Their foreign trade director András Somlyódy told Trade magazin that they received a high number of visitors. Their loop alarm / tethering systems for protecting products attracted the biggest attention: this product range makes it possible to display small electronic devices (mobile phone, GPS, iPad, etc.) ‘live’ in stores, offering maximum security and providing electric power for the devices. Owner-managing director Sándor Ambrus spoke about one of their patents: Drinkspektor, which protects bottles from opening or stealing them – the solution won the Hungarian Design Award in 2010.
