Lidl Hungary has announced its Telitálka campaign for the tenth time, with the aim of drawing attention to responsible animal husbandry and at the same time contributing to the care of small animals with a difficult fate. This year, Lidl Hungary is supporting the NOÉ Animal Shelter Foundation and the REX Dog Shelter Foundation with a total of more than 8,000 kilograms of pet food with the cooperation of its customers. In addition, the company also sought answers in a questionnaire on how responsible pet owners and pet lovers are.

Lidl Hungary is a committed supporter of responsible animal husbandry, which is why it tried to draw the attention of its customers and social media followers to the importance of this with the Telitálka campaign, announced for the 10th time. This time, Lidl involved its social media followers in the program with entertaining short prize games containing information and questions related to the topic.

Judit Tőssér, head of corporate communications at Lidl Hungary, highlighted:

“This year, we launched our Telitálka campaign for the 10th time, which, as always, enjoyed great popularity. Approximately 15,000 comments were received on the raffles announced on our Facebook page, thanks to which we donate more than 8 tons of pet food to the NOÉ Animal Shelter and the REX Dog Shelter. We are proud that since 2016, within the framework of the ten Telitálka campaigns, together with our customers, we have contributed to the supply of shelter pets with a total of HUF 27.5 million, nearly 80 tons of pet food.”

During this year’s campaign, the discount chain also assessed the knowledge and beliefs of its customers and social media followers regarding responsible animal husbandry in a short questionnaire. The results of the questionnaire showed that the respondents consider it equally important (98% or more) to provide their pet with adequate living space and enough exercise, as well as that it receives the necessary veterinary treatments and vaccinations. 80% of the responding owners keep pets because it brings them joy. The answers also reveal that 24% bought it from an official breeder, almost a quarter adopted it from a shelter,
