LG was once again included in the DJSI World index
LG Electronics (LG) has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI World) for the 12th time. DJSI World ranks the top 10 percent of the world’s largest 2,500 companies based on their long-term economic, environmental, social and corporate governance practices. The list is widely used to compare companies’ sustainable management methods and as a benchmark for socially responsible investments.
LG achieved the highest score in the Leisure Equipment & Products and Consumer Electronics industry categories. In addition, LG is the only South Korean company that has been included in the DJSI World Index for 12 consecutive years.
The company received high marks for its environmental initiatives, actively reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing water use, and increasing its recycling rate. LG is also making significant strides towards its 2030 carbon neutrality goal, having reduced total greenhouse gas emissions by 220,000 tonnes compared to the previous year. In addition, the company has joined the RE100 initiative, with the goal of having all its locations run on 100 percent renewable energy by 2050.
