Start of the 2015 school year
According to the National Retail Federation (NRF) of the USA, families are expected to spend USD 68 billion in the back-to-school season, from which USD 98 million will go to school supplies. Instead of last season’s 25-percent proportion, 30 percent of parents said they would wait for the best promotional offers and only buy on the week before school starts. Families with children between the ages of 6 and 18 plan to spend USD 630 per child, while those with children already in college will part with USD 899 on average.
