SIÓ helps save bees with school education
The largest juice producer in the country continues its educational campaign to save bees. This time, SIÓ distributed five thousand packages of flower seed mixture suitable for planting bee pastures in the 35 educational institutions nationwide that were the first to participate in the program. In the near future, with the help of thousands of elementary school students, bees will be able to get enough food in all corners of our country – from Bük to Mátészalka and from Kóka to Pellér.
The focus of the long-term cooperation between the SIÓ and the National Hungarian Beekeeping Association, signed in 2022, is to save bees.Unfortunately, the work of domestic beekeepers and fruit growers is more trying from time to time, because the world’s pollinator population has been decreasing strongly for years, which also affects fruit growing. For this very reason, the parties develop comprehensive campaigns every year, with the help of which anyone can easily take action against the ever-increasing decline of the domestic bee population.
The focus of SIÓ’s activity this year is the planting of bee pastures and the education of the future generation. As one element of this, the company distributed five thousand packages of mixed flower seeds to the country’s elementary schools at the same time as the beginning of the school year, which, when planted as bee pastures, can effectively help pollinating insects.
