Irish delicacy named world’s best unsalted butter
Not all butters are created equal, as evidenced by the International Cheese and Dairy Awards (ICDA), one of the world’s most prestigious dairy competitions, where this year Kerrygold Grass-Fed Unsalted Pure Irish Butter won the award for the world’s best unsalted butter produced outside the UK.
The winning Irish butter is made exclusively from the milk of grass-fed cows. This European-style butter is known for its bright yellow color, delicately sour taste and high butterfat content, which results in a creamier, tastier and more unique texture than typical American butters.
In the salted butter category, Taste Atlas’s 4% salt butter from France topped this year’s ranking of salted butters. The premium artisanal product is made using traditional methods, kneaded by hand and on a wooden board, which gives it its silky texture and rich, full-bodied taste.
The world’s best butters are therefore not only basic foods, but also true gastronomic specialties, which go far beyond everyday categories in their preparation method, flavor, and quality.
