Tetra Pak received Industrial Oscar
Within two years, 25 percent less waste production, 14 percent less operating costs, 7 percent less specific power consumption and CO2 emissions, zero accidents and machine utilization increased to 75.3 percent – these are the results of the maintenance system, which second rank was awarded in Kyoto to the Tetra Pak factory.
The Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Award known as the ” Industrial Oscar” is the award of the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance, JIPM.
The TPM Awards were established in 1964, with the purpose of encouraging development of the manufacturing industry, factories which displayed remarkable achievement in plant maintenance were presented with PM Excellence Awards, the predecessor of TPM Awards.
The Budaörs plant of Tetra Pak is the first Hungarian packaging material manufacturer that has won the Manufacturing Excellence Award of the Japan Institute of Plant Maintenance.
The industrial ‘Oscar’ is awarded to those companies which develop and implement a system for each production phase that minimises loss.
