IP Day 2024 – the focus of the day was on sustainability and the utilization of knowledge of universities and research institutes, and the Millennium Awards were also presented

April 26 is the World Intellectual Property Day, which the National Office of Intellectual Property (SZTNH) celebrated in accordance with tradition with the presentation of the Millennium Awards and this year also with a professional event.

The motto of IP Day, “Knowledge utilization at the highest level”, reflects the focus of the programs this year: the professional presentations and round table discussions focused on university innovation and utilization in the light of the results achieved so far and future tasks. The Millennium Award recognizes organizations aware of intellectual property protection, which was won in 2024 by Moholy-Nagy University of the Arts (MOME), BioTech USA Kft., HELL ENERGY Magyarország Kft. and Stilianos Kft.

The UN World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) decided in 2000 to declare April 26 as World Intellectual Property Day. On this day, the world’s industrial rights protection and copyright authorities – in Hungary the National Intellectual Property Office (SZTNH) – draw attention to the importance of IP, i.e. intellectual property, with various programs, events and initiatives, organized around the message of sustainability in 2024.
