Investing in the medicinal herb sector
The Ministry of Rural Development signed a strategic agreement with the representatives of the medicinal herb sector. In Hungary about 5,000 people collect 110-120 medicinal herb varieties. 25 companies grow medicinal herbs on about 20,000 hectares of land and the strategic plan is to increase this to 30,000 hectares by 2020. The volume of collected and grown plants would increase from 20,000 tons to 25,000 tons in the same period.
