The mastermind behind cronuts, chocolate chip cookie shots, and the most talked about kouign amann in New York, Dominque Ansel is knowing for pushing sugary limits. But his new tasting menu — served at U.P., the “restaurant” above Dominique Ansel Kitchen in the West Village — is something else entirely. Called “American Dreams,” the dessert-only experience travels through history from the Gold Rush to the Tech Boom, making aspirations into delicious realities.
