Lidl launches integrated payment via app
Discount retailer Lidl is rolling out a new payment feature integrated directly into its rewards app, Lidl Plus.
Lidl Pay is a digital wallet and mobile payment service built into the Lidl Plus app, enabling shoppers to make secure, contactless payments at their local Lidl store using just their smartphone.
With a single scan, customers can effortlessly redeem their Lidl Plus coupons and offers while enjoying a fast and secure checkout experience, knowing their card information is protected by certified providers using top-tier encryption.
“The integration of payment functionality into the Lidl Plus app represents a step forward in our digital evolution,” said Shyam Unarket, customer relations director at Lidl GB.
“We are committed to investing in technologies that simplify the customer journey and offer greater flexibility in how people shop with us. Whether customers prefer using traditional tills or self-checkouts, we want to ensure that every shopper can choose the experience that best suits them.”
Lidl Pay delivers a fast, convenient, and secure checkout experience, allowing customers to seamlessly access their Lidl Plus coupons and offers while paying at staffed tills or self-checkout terminals, all through the Lidl Plus app.
The feature is now available for Lidl Plus users to use.
